Interpreting Graphs from the Census in 2006


In Maths we have had fun looking at tables of data on the StatsNZ website. We made a graph using Excel from the data and made these statements about it.
The smallest ethnic group of people in Howick is Middle Eastern.
The 2nd biggest ethnic group is Asian.
Most people in Howick are European
There are not many Pacific Island or Maori people in Howick.
These numbers were all for in 2006, so some numbers could have changed since then.

  1. This is excellent data interpretation. Did you know you can use Google Forms to create a survey online and then look at the data in a pie chart? Maybe you should create your own and then complete it too?
